Below are Western (sometimes called "cowboy") drawer pulls and cabinet knobs for sale.

A drawer pull and a cabinet knob are, technically at least, different items. That can be a bit confusing because they are often interchangeable and can work well for either purpose (pulling open a drawer or opening a cabinet). Drawer Pulls vs Cabinet Knobs

Even though they are often interchangeable, drawer pulls and cabinet knobs are - technically at least - different things. So, what's the difference?

Drawer Pulls

A drawer pull is a handle used to pull a drawer out of a piece of furniture or to open a cabinet door. They are typically bar shape, or sometimes a ring. A bar-type style of drawer pull is usually affixed to furniture by two attachment points, one toward each end of the pull. They can be installed with the bar running horizontally or vertically. Ring-type styles are often attached with just one attachment point.

To use a drawer pull you slide several fingers behind the bar, or into the ring, then pull. A long drawer will usually have a pull at each end of the drawer, but smaller drawers may have only one pull in the center.

Cabinet Knobs

Like a drawer pull, a cabinet knob is also a handle used to pull a drawer out of a piece of furniture or to open a cabinet door. They are commonly knob-shaped (a roundish, slightly domed shape) but also come in a variety of styles such as an animal's head (or pretty much any shape for that matter). A cabinet knob is usually affixed to furniture by one attachment point.

To use a cabinet knob you simply grasp it with one or several fingers (and/or a thumb) and pull.

So Which One Do You Use?

As we mentioned above, drawer pulls and cabinet knobs are often interchangeable. As long as it fits the piece of furniture you'd like to use it on, which one you choose is up to you.

Save The Drawer Pulls For Later
